Water Plant Operator (Grade 64 – salary range $31,837 - $48,215 DOQ) Perquimans County has an opening for a Water Plant Operator in its Water System.  Primary duties consist of operating and maintaining two water treatment plants, taking water samples, preparing and maintaining files and records, preparing reports, weekend on-call duty and any other necessary duties required for the county water system and for the overall operations of the water treatment plants.  Preferred applicant should have a minimum of a C-Well Operator’s Certification issued by the State of North Carolina and the ability to obtain a B-Well and Physical/Chemical I Certification within two years.  We will accept applications until the position is filled. Income Maintenance Caseworker II – Family & Children’s Medicaid: (Full-Time = Grade 63 – Salary Range = $ 30,466.00 – 46,140.00) Perquimans County has an opening for a full-time Income Maintenance II (IMC II) – Family & Children’s Medicaid Caseworker in their Social Services Department.  The main job duties are to determining and / or redetermine applicants’/clients’ eligibility for assistance in a County Department of Social Services.  The application must have full qualification for Income Maintenance II Position which includes one year experience as an Income Maintenance I or Eligibility Specialist I in a Department of Social Services.  The Department will accept work against position if there are no fully qualified applicants.  To obtain further requirements for this position, go to the Recruitment Announcement located at the bottom of this page.  All applications are to be received by NC Works Center in Elizabeth City, NC. 911 Telecommunicator: (Part-Time = Grade 60 Non-Certified & 62 Certified) Perquimans County has an immediate opening for Part-Time Telecommunicators in its 911 Center.  Experience with emergency two-way radio equipment & excellent computer/typing skills required.  Ability to speak clearly & to remain calm & courteous during emergency situations is a necessity.  Must obtain NC DCI Certification within 120 days of employment, successfully complete a 47-hour Telecommunicator Certification Course & a 24-hour Emergency Medical Dispatch Certification Course.  Applicants may apply through the Perquimans County Manager’s Office (426-8484).  See job descriptions for further info. Code Enforcement Officer: (Full-Time = Grade 61 Salary Range - $27,900 - $42,251) Perquimans County has an opening for a full-time Code Enforcement Officer in its Building Inspections Office.  Job duties for this position includes the enforcement of all County regulations as set out in various Ordinances passed by the Board of County Commissioners.  The individual must have a high school diploma with some college and/or law enforcement experience preferred.  This employee must maintain a N.C.
