911 TELECOMMUNICATORS: (Full-Time & Part-Time = Grade 60 Non-Certified & 62 Certified) Perquimans County has an immediate opening for a Full-Time & Part-Time Telecommunicator in its 911 Center.  Experience with emergency two-way radio equipment & excellent computer/typing skills required.  Ability to speak clearly & to remain calm & courteous during emergency situations is a necessity.  Must obtain NC DCI Certification within 120 days of employment, successfully complete a 47-hour Telecommunicator Certification Course & a 24-hour Emergency Medical Dispatch Certification Course.  Applicants may apply through the Perquimans County Manager’s Office (426-8484).  See job descriptions for further info. EMS: (Grade 68 * $37,221-$53,369 Full-time depending on qualifications & experience) Perquimans County has openings for Part-time Paramedic positions as well as Full-time Paramedics in its Emergency Medical Services Division. Job requirements: (1) successful completion of an approved appropriate North Carolina State Emergency Medical Technician training program and certification as a Paramedic; and maintain level of certification; (2) one year of field experience at the appropriate certification level preferred. (3) able to pass an oral board with the system's medical director to operate at the appropriate level. (4) valid North Carolina driver’s license. (5) ability to lift and move up to 200 pounds with assistance. (6) High School graduate or equivalent. (7) have/obtain and maintain ACLS, PALS or PEPP and PHTLS or ITLS.

PARAMEDIC SHIFT SUPERVISOR: (Grade 70 * $40,649-$61,557 depending on qualifications & experience) Perquimans County has an opening for a Full-time Paramedic Shift Supervisor position in its Emergency Medical Services Division. Job requirements: (1) successful completion of an approved North Carolina Paramedic training program and certification as a Paramedic with NCOEMS; and maintain Paramedic level of certification; (2) able to pass an oral board with the system's Medical Director to operate at the Paramedic level. (3) valid North Carolina driver’s license. (4) ability to lift and move up to 200 pounds with assistance. (5) High School graduate or equivalent. (6) supervisory experience & an associates/technical degree with course work in emergency medical services, management or related field & three to five years of experience working as a Paramedic or equivalent combination of education & experience. (7) have/obtain and maintain ACLS, PALS or PEPP and PHTLS or ITLS. (8) PC proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, & presentation software as well as internet & email use.
